Invisalign Before and After: See How Invisalign Works on Different Smiles
If you’ve been thinking about getting Invisalign, you’ve probably been trawling the web for Invisalign before and after photos too, right? After all, seeing how Invisalign works on different smiles is a good way to get a general idea of how it may work for you.
To help you see how effective Invisalign can be for different cases, we’ve put together this list of our patients’ before and after pics. We know it’s often hard to find honest Invisalign reviews online, so we hope that scrolling through our Invisalign before and after cases will give you a clear picture of how Invisalign works for particular issues.
Of course, every mouth is unique. So, when you’re looking through Invisalign before and after photos, it’s important to remember that results will always vary from person to person. And *your* results with Invisalign will be entirely dependent on *you* — that is, the complexity of your case and how well you stick to your treatment guidelines.
Psst… Want to Know the *Best* Way to Determine Whether Invisalign Is Right for You and Your Smile?
Come in and see us for your Invisalign consultation. During this appointment, we will assess your oral health, as well as the level of correction needed to achieve the best outcome for your smile. From here, we can create a personalised treatment plan to get you on your way to your dream smile.
Treatable Cases With Invisalign
The good news is that Invisalign is effective for most cases, including minor-to-severe tooth crowding, crooked teeth, tooth gaps, an overbite or underbite, and other common issues. It’s also suitable for both adults and teens.
To be honest, we see *very* few cases that we cannot treat with Invisalign at our Mascot dental clinic.
Check out our patients’ before and after photos below to see what Invisalign can do for different cases.
Minor Corrections (i.e. Those Who Just Want Generally Straighter Teeth)
If you only have slightly crooked teeth and simply want a straighter smile, invisible braces like Invisalign are a great option.
Invisalign is an effective teeth straightening solution for minor to complex cases. Our gorgeous patient Breisha only needed minor correcting to get the straighter smile she’d always wanted.
For minor corrections and less complex cases, Invisalign Express can help you get a straighter smile in just months (yes, you read that right — months!) With Invisalign Express, treatment time is usually around 3 to 6 months.
Overbite
An overbite (sometimes called buck teeth) is a type of malocclusion where your upper front teeth stick out beyond your lower front teeth.
Before Invisalign, our patient Daniela’s upper anterior (front) teeth overlapped and almost covered her bottom anterior teeth. Now, her overbite is corrected and her teeth are properly aligned.
If left untreated, any malocclusion like an underbite, overbite or crossbite can cause major dental issues, such as tooth decay, damage to tooth enamel and gum disease. It can also lead to serious issues with your jaw and affect how you speak and chew food. This is why it’s so important to correct any bite issues as early as possible.
Underbite
An underbite is another type of malocclusion where your lower jaw and teeth protrude forward, overlapping the upper jaw and teeth.
Can you see the Invisalign attachment on this patient’s tooth in the Before image? Invisalign attachments, such as buttons and elastic bands, are often used when correcting an underbite.
When correcting an overbite, underbite or crossbite, Invisalign attachments will likely be used. These attachments help to realign your upper and lower teeth and guide your bite back into the correct position.

Crossbite
An anterior crossbite is a type of malocclusion where some of the upper anterior teeth sit inside the lower anterior teeth when the jaw is closed.
See how some of this patient’s bottom teeth sit in front of the top teeth in the Before shot? This is an anterior crossbite. The After photo *really* shows you what a difference Invisalign can make!
Gapped Teeth
Gapped teeth (also called spacing or diastema) is a common dental condition where there is excessive space between adjacent teeth. There are a few reasons why spacing in teeth can occur and it usually comes down to your biological makeup, such as having smaller than average teeth or a larger than average jaw.
Check out our patient Chester’s fabulous new smile! Thanks to Invisalign, the gap between his front teeth is gone for good.
In spacing cases, each new set of Invisalign aligners works to gradually move the teeth closer together and close up any gaps.
Open Bite
An open bite is a malocclusion where the top anterior teeth and bottom anterior teeth don’t overlap or touch when the jaw is closed, leaving an opening between them. An open bite can be complex to treat, but it is possible with either Invisalign or braces.
Open bites are rare and can be quite complex to treat. But with Invisalign, our patient Mai was able to fix her open bite and achieve a perfectly aligned smile.
Overly Crowded Teeth
Crowded teeth (also known as overcrowding) occurs when there is not enough space available for adult teeth to grow in straight. This causes the teeth to become crooked and overlap each other. Overcrowding is a common dental issue and can be effectively treated with Invisalign.
Are your teeth overcrowded like our patient Daryll’s teeth? After Invisalign, they’ll each have their own perfect position — no more fighting for space!
